Our communications team compiled some of our favorite free or low-cost tools for nonprofit communications and put them to the test.

Canva:  provides templates so you can create and design graphics that you can use for flyers, social media posts, campaign and fundraiser announcements, graphics, and more. Nonprofit pricing is available. Never designed a graphic before? No worries, their tutorials are very helpful.

Add text to images: Posts and articles with images are more likely to attract readers.  Make a statement by adding text to your images with this tool. The drag and drop feature makes it very easy to use.

Piktochart: Infographics are graphic visual representations of information. They work especially well when you have a lot of data and statistics. Use them for presentations, reports, or online storytelling. Nonprofit pricing available.

Infogram:  Make your data look pretty with this data visualization tool. The templates are great for those who work with a lot of numbers and need to translate those numbers into charts and presentations that are easy on the eye.

Powtoown: Video marketing is one of the most effective ways to grab attention so use these on your website, in e-blasts, on social media or in place of a PowerPoint. Easily create animated videos to tell a story important to your cause. You can use start from scratch or customize an existing template. Although there’s no nonprofit pricing available, there are a number of free features.
