Governor Mike DeWine appoints Kirstin Toth to Early Childhood Advisory Council
GAR Foundation’s senior vice president, Kirstin Toth, was recently appointed to Governor Mike DeWine’s Early Childhood Advisory Council. The council provides feedback and guidance on early childhood programs to the Governor’s administration. The council’s membership includes stakeholders from early childhood programs, schools, health, social services, unions, philanthropy and other groups. Toth is the only representative on the council from Summit County.
“I am truly honored to have been appointed by the Governor to the Early Childhood Advisory Council,” said Toth. “I look forward to working with my fellow stakeholders to help shape input and policy around early childhood programs. I hope to make the most of this for Akron!”
A public education expert committed to systems improvement in the public education sector, Toth has been instrumental in leading major early childhood and education initiatives at GAR Foundation, including the Supporting Teachers and Ready Students and Essential Experiences initiatives. Toth serves on several community boards including Summit Education Initiative, ConxusNEO, the Fund for Our Economic Future, and the Early Childhood Resource Center.
