Now more than ever, so many of us want to contribute to the greater good. Responding to, and spreading the word about the Census is one simple yet critical thing you can do for your community right now.

Here are four free and easy ways you can help get the word out:

Add a call to action in your e-mail signature

Now is the perfect time to add a simple call to action reminding your contacts to complete and spread the word the Census. Here’s an example you can use:

Reach out to someone who may need assistance completing the Census

Nonprofits, schools, faith-based groups, and other organizations working with the public, have a unique opportunity to reach, inform, and combat any misinformation and fear among what the Census calls “hard to reach” populations – people living in poverty, experiencing homelessness, children under age 5, and immigrants and refugees. Individuals can also reach out to friends and loved ones and offer assistance where needed.

Customize Graphics

The Census website offers graphics that you can easily customize and share digitally with your audiences and readers.

Start an online movement

Start a hashtag or use an existing one like #YouCountBeCounted or #WeCount; share a Census tip or the day; start a Selfie Census Challenge by tagging friends or share fun facts about how the Census has changed since the year 1790. There are so many ways to get creative!
