In his third year managing the OSLN Akron Hub, Sam has been a science and maths educator with the Akron Public Schools for over 20 years. A founding faculty member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame STEM School now in its 10th year of operation, he was honored as Teacher of the year in 2001 and again in 2015. A practitioner and trainer of Problem Based Learning Design, Sam is an advocate of learner-led, inquiry based classrooms that redefine the teacher as coach and the student as the discoverer of their learning. Sam is an alumni of both Ohio University and The University of Akron.
