Rebecca is an 8th grade STEM teacher at Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. She is a true example of a “flipped classroom” educator. With a passion for creativity and innovation, Rebecca made a career change after 10 years in the traditional classroom to engage students in exploring a world of possibilities with technology. In Rebecca’s classroom, students investigate STEM careers, build websites, code, 3d model and print, create and deploy virtual reality content (games and holograms), explore graphic design (animations, videography, image design), and allow programs and design processes to guide them into high school, college, and future careers. Students learn to become independent, responsible learners and gain skills and abilities far beyond their belief. Rebecca received a B.S. in Middle Childhood Education (Science, Social Studies, and Reading), M.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, is a Google Certified Educator, CTE certified, and participates in the Ohio Department of Education’s Computer Science Standards and Curriculum Writing Committee.
