I wanted to take a moment to share a few of my favorite free/low cost marketing and communications resources for nonprofits with you. Before I do that, I thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce myself to those that I have yet to meet. My name is Anthony Boarman and I am the newest staff member at GAR Foundation after joining the team in mid-June as the Strategic Communications Manager. Throughout the last few months, I have been spending time getting to know the Foundation, the work that our staff does, and most importantly, about the crucial efforts of our Akron-area nonprofits.

A bit about me:

  • I spent the last 16 years of my career in the education field where I served in multiple educator, coach and marketing/communications roles.
  • When I’m not working, I like to stay active by running, hiking, biking, and taking landscape photos.
  • I am a hike assist volunteer with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and have been a volunteer photographer for several local organizations.
  • I serve on two local boards: Progress Through Preservation of Greater Akron and The Summit County Historical Society.
  • I am married to my amazing wife Emily and have two daughters, Sadie (5) and Audrey (10 months).
  • Most importantly, the love of my life is my shepherd-mix Ava (9).

One of my early goals has been finding ways that we can foster a supportive relationship with the organizations that we work with through messaging, sharing stories, and other creative ways. A really simple, but impactful way to assist you is by sharing useful resources that will help you make the most out of your time, skills, and overall organizational needs.

Below, you can find a selection of my favorite marketing and communication resources for nonprofits. If you're already using these tools and have any questions about them, don't hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]; I'd be happy to assist you! Additionally, if you could spare a minute to complete the survey below, I'd appreciate learning more about the types of resource topics your organization is interested in.

I look forward to collaborating with you in the future!
